Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Miers Physical Therapy located?
We are conveniently located near I275 and I71 on Montgomery Rd. in Montgomery, OH in the shopping plaza behind McDonalds and El Jinete Mexican Restaurant. Physical address is: Miers Physical Therapy, 10776 Montgomery Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45242.
Why choose Miers Physical Therapy vs. a hospital or multi-therapist based clinic?
At most physical therapy clinics, you will be seen by a physical therapist for the initial evaluation. During your follow-up visits, you may see the PT for only 10 to 15 minutes, then transferred to a physical therapist assistant or athletic trainer, which may have multiple patients at the same time. At Miers PT, you will only be seen by Dave each and every visit, with no other clients, no assistants, no trainers, just you and Dave, which provides the highest level of individualized care which few clinics can offer.
What should I expect during my first visit?
During your first visit, a comprehensive, thorough evaluation (unlike any that you may have received from other healthcare providers), of your specific ailment will be assessed, and an individualized treatment plan will be determined. This first visit will last approximately one hour.
How many visits will I need?
Number of visits will vary based on your individualized need, but the goal is to minimize the number, but still reach your rehabilitation goal.
What information do you need from me?
If you are a Medicare recipient, your Medicare card and list of medications will be needed.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
Although you do not need a doctor’s referral, by law, you must have a medical diagnosis of your condition over the past 12 months. If you are a Medicare patient, you must have a physician’s prescription.
How does the payment and billing process work?
Miers Physical Therapy accepts cash, check, credit card and HSA card payments at the time of service. We are also a participating provider with Medicare, meaning we will bill them directly for you. As a cash based clinic, you will be provided with everything you need to submit your claim directly to your commercial insurance plan. Most clients receive some form of reimbursement, depending on their specific insurance plan, and the cost can be applied directly to your deductible, even if out of network.
How should I dress for my treatment?
Wear something that is comfortable to you. A changing room is available.
What is a Fellow and how does that enhance my treatment?
A Fellow distinction is given to a physical therapist who completes post-graduate residency of 440 hours of clinical practice under the supervision of a Fellow, as well as more than 200 hours of classroom instruction in theory, principles of evaluation and treatment, and clinical decision making. The classroom training is followed by written, oral, and live patient exams. Miers Physical Therapy is also a teaching facility for residency students wishing to pursue their Fellowship with AAOMPT.
